BRS leader K Kavitha is questioned at Tihar Jail and has her judicial detention extended

BRS leader K Kavitha’s judicial custody was extended by a Delhi PMLA court on Tuesday until April 23 in relation to the excise policy money laundering case.

In the meantime, the CBI interrogated her while she was being held at Tihar Jail after her arrest by the Enforcement Directorate.

She was detained for 14 days in judicial prison last Tuesday after being arrested on charges of money laundering on March 15 in Hyderabad.

The agency had informed the court that judicial detention was necessary because Kavitha had attempted to manipulate witnesses and tamper with evidence.

Additionally, the ED had filed a motion to extend the BRS leader’s 14-day court custody.

The incident occurred on Monday, when a Delhi court denied Kavitha’s request for temporary release in the money laundering case involving the now-cancelled Delhi excise policy. The court is now considering Kavitha’s normal bail request, and arguments are scheduled on April 20.
