Buoyed by the Ayodhya excitement, Uddhav camp believes it would announce Lord Ram as a contender for election

Leader of the Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray), Sanjay Raut, attacked the Bharatiya Janata Party on Saturday for politicizing the Ram Temple in Ayodhya, stating that the BJP’s only remaining option is to declare Lord Ram as their candidate for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. Prior to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to the riverfront town of Uttar Pradesh, where he is expected to unveil many massive projects, Raut made these comments.

All that’s left to do is for the BJP to declare Lord Ram as their candidate for the next elections. Renowned for his candid remarks, Raut told reporters, “So much politics is being done in the name of Lord Ram.”

Prior to this, Raut claimed that the January 22 opening of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya was a “BJP event” rather than a national one.

Uddhav Thackeray, the leader of the Shiv Sena (UBT), stated, “Thackeray will definitely go but only after the BJP’s event gets over,” in response to a question about whether he will participate in the idol consecration ceremony. Why should someone attend a BJP function? This isn’t a national occasion. Where is the purity in the BJP’s heavy campaigning and rallying for this function?

Live from Ayodhya, Narendra Modi visit
Ahead of the much-awaited temple’s consecration ceremony in January, Prime Minister Modi will unveil ₹11,000 crore worth of improvements in Ayodhya, including a new airport and renovated railway station. A government statement states that the airport, whose front will resemble temple architecture, was built in anticipation of a rise in city tourism.

In preparation for an expected inflow of Hindu pilgrims, officials have been busy widening roads, building bridges, and building highways in Ayodhya during the last several years.

“Our government is dedicated to creating infrastructure that meets international standards, enhancing connectivity, and modernizing civic amenities all the while verifying the rich history and legacy of Lord Shri Ram’s Ayodhya,” Modi said in a post on X.
