Chander Mohan is a Selja campaigner in Fatehabad

Today, in the Fatehabad district, Congress leader Chander Mohan and the Congress candidate from the Sirsa reserved Lok Sabha seat, Kumari Selja, joined the race, one day after BJP leader Kuldeep Bishnoi appeared on stage during the BJP’s public meeting in the Adampur segment of the Hisar Lok Sabha constituency. The seat of Sirsa Lok Sabha includes Fatehabad.

Even though they were members of the same Congress party, Chander Mohan and Kuldeep Bishnoi—sons of former chief minister Bhajan Lal—have different political ideologies, notwithstanding their fraternal bonds. They have a sizable following of those who were historically Bhajan Lal’s supporters, particularly in the Bishnoi group, which is well-represented in the Lok Sabha seats of Sirsa and Hisar.

Later on in the day, former Hisar MP Brijendra Singh and Congress national secretary Randeep Surjewala also joined Selja. The last stop on Selja’s tour is expected to be Danoda village in the Jind district’s Narwana Assembly section.

In an interview with journalists during the road show, Selja said that all of the leaders and employees in the Sirsa section had been employed by the party and that factionalism did not exist inside the party. She launched a barbaric attack on the BJP, claiming that it was founded on fabrications to seize power both at the federal and state levels. The BJP brought jumlabazi to the political scene. During their ten years in power, they told lies. Every group in society feels persecuted these days. Thus, it’s time to bid the BJP farewell,” she said in a Fatehabad interview with journalists.
