Chhari Mubarak is traveling to a cave shrine to offer prayers as the pilgrimage’s ritual culmination during the Amarnath Yatra

The saffron-clad sacred mace of Lord Shiva, also known as “Chhari Mubarak,” arrived at Panchtarani on Wednesday. From there, it will spend the night before traveling to the Amarnath cave shrine for special rituals that will mark the traditional conclusion of the yearly trip.

Mahant Deependra Giri, the guardian of the sacred mace, carried the Chhari from Sheshnag to Panchtarani amid religious chanting. The sacred mace will arrive at the cave shrine in the south Kashmir Himalayas, which is said to be Lord Shiva’s dwelling, on Thursday for special prayers, which will be the conclusion of the yearly Amarnath Yatra.

On Saturday, the Chhari Mubarak Swami Amarnath Ji departed the Mahadev Giri Dashnami Akhara for the major part of the journey. Before the start of the trip, special prayers were offered at the Dashnami Akhara shrine. The sacred mace will be carried by Giri to the ‘pujan’ and ‘darshan’ on Thursday’s ‘Shravan-Purnima’ early in the morning.
