Congress criticizes PM Modi for saying “poll bond.”

The Congress on Monday attacked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his claim that he would not have a “setback” due to the electoral bond problem, claiming that the revelations offered concrete proof of the Center’s corruption.

Congress national secretary (communication) Jairam Ramesh commented on X, “The corruption of the Modi Sarkar has been known for a while now; the setback is that there are now hard numbers to prove it.”

Referring to information found in the data on electoral bonds released by the SBI after the apex court’s intervention, Ramesh said, “Rs 4 lakh crore worth of contracts, projects, and environmental clearances can be linked to thousands of crores in electoral bond donations made by corporate donors to the BJP.”

According to Ramesh, the Indian government has been reduced to a supermarket where people may donate to the BJP and get lucrative contracts.

“Following at least 40 raids by the ED, IT, and CBI, these companies have generously donated electoral bonds to the BJP.” The Congress leader said that “the PM and his cronies have been engaged in a systematic Hafta Vasuli.”
