Congress pledges to revive the tribal Sub-Plan: Kharge and the Scheduled Caste Plan

Mallikarjun Kharge, the national president of the Congress, said on Thursday that if elected to power, the historic party will carry out the Scheduled Caste Plan and the Tribal Sub-Plan, which were established by Indira Gandhi in the 1970s and eliminated by the Modi administration in 2014.

“Legal assurances are provided by Congress for the execution of the SC-ST Sub Plan. The budget is as big as the SC/ST population! In order to guarantee that Scheduled Castes and Tribes received a fair and sufficient share of budgetary resources, Indira Gandhi instituted the Special Component Plan and Tribal Sub-Plan for Scheduled Castes in the 1970s. However, the Modi administration eliminated both plans in 2014, according to Kharge in a post titled “X.”

“The Scheduled Caste Plan and the Tribal Sub-Plan will be revived and implemented by law, as guaranteed by Congress,” he said.

Kharge went on to say that the Congress has been speaking up for the rights of underprivileged, marginalized, and oppressed groups in society as well as all castes for the last 70 years.

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi said that the nation can only be strong if its base is solid and stated that the party’s goal is to guarantee tribal people’s involvement in the development of contemporary India.

In addition to preserving land, water, and forests, the Congress also wants to guarantee that tribal people would be included in the development of contemporary India. By stopping the looting of resources, these six of our resolutions that are devoted to the tribal society will serve as a barrier for the rights of the tribal people. Only until the basis is solid can the nation become strong, according to Gandhi.

“Jitni Abadi, Utna Haq” is the slogan Rahul Gandhi and his party have been using to seek a national caste census.

In Andhra Pradesh, the TDP, an ally of the BJP, has also committed to carrying out a caste census.
