Netizens Pay Attention to Bengaluru Restaurant’s “Varthur Lake Pollution” Drink

A restaurant in Bengaluru has created a drink that is centered on the well-known Varthur Lake pollution problem, which has caused quite a fuss. Bengaluru Oota Company, a company renowned for its creative food innovations, has introduced a dish called “Varathur Overflow,” which has caused both laughter and disapproval among the people of the city. Arnav Gupta, an X user, commented about this on X (previously Twitter), mentioning that the Bangalore Oota Company makes a drink called “Varthur Overflow,” which is a play on the Varthur Lake pollution problem. The caption said, “This city literally will make memes to the point of parody cocktails instead of fixing itself.”

According to an India Today story, the drink is described as having a distinctive combination of tequila, orange brandy, vetiver vodka, pineapple juice, fresh citrus, ripe jackfruit, and salt air on the restaurant’s web menu.

The second-largest lake in the capital of Karnataka, Varthur Lake, has long struggled with serious pollution problems, mostly from the inflow of sewage water from Bellandur Lake, which is situated upstream. Varthur Lake’s failing ecology has sparked grave worries about risks to the public’s health and the environment.

The terrible loss of almost 25,000 fish in October 2023 during a stressful operation to clean the lake brought attention to the serious effects of water contamination.

The recent decision by the Bangalore Development Authority (BDA) to allow rainwater infiltration into Varthur Lake has fueled an already intense dispute, despite continuing attempts to revitalize the lake and reduce pollution levels.

One person added, “on a lighter note,” to the conversation. I’m curious to know what beverage they’ll serve to celebrate the city’s water scarcity. ”I can now see why they adore their ipl squad for so long,” another person said on X.
