Doctor in Vijayawada murders wife, mother, and children before taking his own life

At his home in Gurunanak Colony, which is within the boundaries of the Patamata police station, a 40-year-old orthopaedic physician is accused of killing his mother, wife, and two children before taking his own life on Tuesday morning. Police believe the orthopedic specialist may have taken this drastic measure due to financial difficulties.

The dead were named as Darawath Srinivas (40), his mother Ramanamma (65), his wife Usha Rani (36), and their two children, Sailaja (9), and Srihan (6). While Srinivas’s younger sister lives in Visakhapatnam, his older brother Durga Prasad is a judge in Hyderabad. His dad was a DSP who had retired.

When the housemaid got to the house at nine in the morning, she saw Srinivas’s corpse dangling next to the hallway, which is how the tragedy came to light. She notified Patamata police and the neighbors right away.

DCP Adhiraj Singh Rana, PHD Ramakrishna, the NTR District Commissioner of Police, and other authorities hurried to the scene to investigate the event. Evidence was gathered from the residence by the fingerprint specialists, sniffer dog, and clues team.

The corpses of the other family members were discovered inside the home in a pool of blood, but Sriniva’s body was discovered by the police by the front door.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Adhiraj Singh Rana claimed in a statement to the media that the family’s leader, Dr. Srinivas, had previously worked in a private hospital before founding his own. He obtained funding from a number of institutions and individual investors. Dejected, Srinivas turned the hospital over to someone else to lessen the load when the facility lost money and accrued enormous debts. “Srinivas took the drastic action because he was unable to handle his financial issues. We believe that he may have slashed the throats of all of his family members to murder them with a knife before taking his own life. Prior to the occurrence, Srinivas placed his automobile keys in the neighboring mailbox along with a piece of paper with his brother’s phone number, according to the DCP.

A knife and suicide note were taken from the scene by the police, who have opened an investigation under suspicious death. According to a senior officer who spoke on the condition of anonymity, “Srinivas also recorded a voice note in his phone where he explained the reasons behind killing all four family members and his suicide.”

We also hear that Srinivas was invited to return to work at the same hospital where he had previously leased space to someone else. “He has dedicated a great deal of blood, sweat, and tears to Srija Hospital, realizing his ambition of establishing a hospital on his own. Sadly, things did not turn out the way he had hoped. He could have been humiliated and might have resorted to severe measures over sadness after giving over hospital maintenance to someone else and being permitted to work in the same hospital, according to the police.
