False Cases Are Being Filed Against AAP Leaders, and There Is A Campaign To End The Party, Says Delhi CM Kejriwal

Arvind Kejriwal, the chief minister of Delhi, said on Wednesday that there is a drive to delegitimize the AAP and that fabricated charges are being brought against party officials.

After meeting the Delhi chief minister at his home on Tuesday, Amanatullah Khan, an AAP MLA whose house was searched by the Enforcement Directorate (ED), made the allegations.

In connection with a money-laundering probe involving Khan and several others, the ED searched Khan’s Delhi property. Three to four locations were searched in accordance with the Prevention of Money Laundering Act, according to government sources.

“There have been 170 cases filed against our (AAP) leaders, but the judgments in 140 of those cases have been in our favor,” the AAP chairman told reporters after meeting Khan.

“They began detaining our top leaders and ministers in the last several months. The raids being conducted are a part of an effort to delegitimize the AAP, he continued.

Kejriwal said that neither the ED nor the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) are conducting any investigations in states where the BJP is in power, and that the saffron party’s goal is to disturb opposition politicians rather than eradicate corruption.

“We have seen how individuals who Modiji accused of corruption have joined the BJP. They have incorporated dishonest members of opposing parties into their ranks,” he said.

Kejriwal said that there is a climate of fear in the nation while reiterating that the AAP is a party of nationalists.

“People are leaving India and moving to other countries,” he said.
