Farmers Demand That PM Modi Announce A Law Encouraging MSP Guarantee Before Protest in Delhi Chalo March

New Delhi: On February 13, 2024, hundreds of farmer unions launched the “Delhi Chalo March,” a protest in which farmers from Punjab, Haryana, and Uttar Pradesh marched to New Delhi to voice their concerns. A number of requests are made by the farmers, the primary one being the passage of legislation setting the Minimum Support Price (MSP) for crops.

The march, which was put on hold in the hopes that the Center would grant the farmers’ requests, is set to resume today after lengthy discussions with the government failed to produce a mutual understanding. Leader of the farmers, Sarwan Singh Pandher, has requested PM Modi to stop the protest by introducing a legislation on MSP guarantee for farmers ahead of today’s farmers protest. As previously noted, farmer leader Sarwan Singh Pandher has asked the Prime Minister to step in and put an end to the protest by proposing a legislation on MSP Guarantee for the farmers in a statement released in advance of today’s Farmers’ Delhi Chalo March. The leader of the farmers has further said that the people elected Prime Minister Modi, hence it is their right to demand what they want.

Sarwan Singh Pandher, a farmer leader, states in this video: “We have instructed the government to murder us, but to spare the farmers any hardship. “You can kill us, but don’t oppress the farmers, please.”
Sarwan Singh Pandher released a statement before to the demonstration, stating, “We have told the government that you can kill us, but please don’t oppress the farmers.” We want the Prime Minister to step forward and halt this demonstration by introducing legislation guaranteeing farmers’ MSP.The nation won’t tolerate such a government.

Sarwan Singh Pandher has further said, “There are paramilitary forces deployed in the villages of Haryana,” denouncing the police and paramilitary forces’ use to put an end to or manage the protest.What offense have we perpetrated?You now have the position of Prime Minister. We never imagined that the powers would subjugate us in this manner.Please defend the Constitution, and allow us to go to Delhi in peace. It is our right to do this.

Delhi Chalo March: Implementation of Traffic Limitations
In addition to the deployment of soldiers, barricading, concrete barricades, and iron nails have been placed in order to ensure law and order as the farmers march towards the nation’s capital. The Tikri and Singhu Borders of Delhi have already been blocked. Heavy security officers have also been deployed. In addition, traffic limits have been put in place in Delhi City, Gurugram, Noida, Ghaziabad, and two lanes of the Ghazipur border.
