Four receive life in prison for the 2012 officer murders

Four defendants have been sentenced to life in jail for the murder of a Delhi Police constable who was brutally stabbed in front of a brothel on GB Road in Central Delhi more than 11 years ago. The court described the crime as “heinous, diabolical, and barbaric.”

Extra Meetings Judge Virender Kumar Kharta was hearing arguments for the punishment of Ashish Bahuguna, also known as Ashu, Suraj, Manoj, and Aakash. All four of these individuals had been found guilty of many offenses under the Indian Penal Code, including murder and attempted murder.

The prosecution claimed that on the nights of September 10 and 11, 2012, the four defendants stabbed policeman Bijender to death in addition to injuring constables Sandeep and Irshad.
