Gurinder Singh Dhillon, a former ADGP of Punjab, joins the Congress

Gurinder Singh Dhillon, a former assistant director general of the Punjab Police, joined the Congress on Tuesday in Delhi in front of prominent party officials.

Dhillon and his spouse joined the Congress after he recently decided to voluntarily resign from the Punjab Police.

The Punjab in-charge of the All India Congress Committee (AICC), Devender Yadav, welcomed him into the party.

“I have been a police officer in my state for approximately twenty years,” Dhillon said. With Rahul Gandhi ji’s blessings, I am here today.

He said, “I met him on my two major duties—the Golden Temple for “seva (service)” and the Punjab part of the Bharat Jodo Yatra.

Dhillon also sent his appreciation to top leaders KC Venugopal, Yadav, and other AICC members, as well as Congress chairman Mallikarjun Kharge.

“I express my gratitude to the Congressmen in Punjab for their kind welcome. I’ll carry out my responsibilities to the party with diligence,” he said.
