Hematchal seizes 20,000 litres of booze and narcotics worth Rs 1.7 crore

Since the model Code of Conduct was implemented in light of the Lok Sabha and other legislative bodies, the Himachal Pradesh Police have recovered narcotics worth Rs 1.71 crore and illegal liquor worth Rs 1.10 crore across the state.

534 cases under the Excise Act and 188 cases under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act have been filed in the state during this time.

27.59 kg of cannabis, 1.15 kg of heroin, 28,170 narcotic substances, 1.3 lakh opium plants, 1.75 mg of ganja, and 6.09 gm of smack have all been found by the police. Over 20,000 liters of booze have been confiscated by the police.
