In Rajasthan, Amit Shah barely makes it out before his “chariot” hits a power cord

Amit Shah, the Union Home Minister, had a close call on Tuesday when the “rath” he was riding in struck an electrical line in Nagaur, Rajasthan.

The event happened when Shah’s cavalcade was traveling from Bidiyad village to Parbatsar to give a speech at an electoral rally. His ‘rath’ (specially constructed vehicle) struck a power line in Parbatsar while driving along a roadway with residences and stores on both sides. This caused a spark to ignite and the wire to break.

Online footage of the event has also emerged.

There will be an investigation into the event, according to Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot.

The power was switched off and the other cars following the Shah’s “rath” came to a halt right away.

Shah was put in a different car and driven to Parbatsar where he spoke to the gathering.

Shah spoke at three gatherings in support of the party’s candidates for the assembly elections on November 25 in Kuchaman, Makrana, and Nagaur.

At a news conference in Jaipur, Chief Minister Gehlot informed the media that an investigation into the event would be launched.
