In Sriganganagar, the BSF shoots down a drone carrying 2.5 kilos of heroin

Yesterday, between the BSF’s Sakhi and Nemichand borders in the Sriganganagar sector, soldiers shot and killed a drone. Today, in the hamlet of Chak 23-KD, the drone and heroin packages were discovered laying next to a cowshed.

Three sachets, totaling around 2.5 kg of heroin, were reportedly discovered linked to the drone, according to sources. The worldwide market value of the seized heroin is in the crores of rupees. This is the third instance of Pakistani traffickers using drones to carry heroin in the last month. The matter has been turned over to the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) by the BSF.

According to BSF, the drone was struck during the shooting and fell to the ground.

Inspector Akhilesh Kumar Rai, Company Commander (Acting), G-Branch Inspector Sunil Kumar, Inspector Kamlesh Kumar, and BSF Battalion Commandant Prabhakar Singh arrived at the location.

Although a search was carried out in the vicinity, no other suspicious objects were discovered.
