The second Tadicherla coal block will be given to SCCL

In principle, the Union government consented to give the Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) control over Tadicherla coal block 2.

This was revealed by Union Minister of Coal and Mines Pralhad Joshi at a meeting with Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, Deputy Chief Minister and Minister of Energy, on Thursday in Delhi. He called the decision “positive news.” The deputy chief minister said that the Tadicherla coal block-2 in the Jayashankar-Bhupalpally district could produce five million tonnes of coal. He also met with Union Power Minister RK Singh.

He said that throughout the preceding ten years, the BRS administration never requested that the Tadicherla coal block be given to the SCCL.

Additionally, Vikramarka requested that Pralhad Joshi remove all barriers to coal production in the Odisha coal block known as Naini, which was given to SCCL. The Jaipur Power Plant was given the Naini coal block. The SCCL was paying a lot of money to provide coal to the Jaipur plant since there was no longer any output in the Naini block.

The Union minister gave them his word that he will ensure that the Naini coal block is operational by speaking with the chief minister of Odisha. As part of PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana, the deputy chief minister also proposed to RK Singh the installation of solar panels at different locations around the state. Poor people may install solar panels on their roofs under the program. The state government would pay the remaining expenses after receiving a subsidy from the center. The plan was well received by the Union minister of electricity.

For the fiscal year 2024–2025, the Municipal Corporation of Faridabad anticipates an increase in its budget of around 20% in order to fund the completion of infrastructure projects under the engineering branch. As the municipal body prepares to embark on large-scale projects pertaining to civic infrastructure, including as roads, sewage, water supply, and solid waste disposal, the authorities have requested funding of around Rs 250 crore for the next fiscal year, according to MC sources. After 24 villages were added to the MC’s authority last year, its total service area increased by more than 15%. As a result, the city’s municipal authority will need more funding to build the necessary infrastructure and to maintain the current system of streets, sewers, and water supplies. According to an official, the city’s municipal ward count has increased from 40 to 45 due to the population growth. A budget of Rs 15 crore has also been requested by the municipal body for the horticulture division, which maintains the parks and green spaces in most of the districts. Although the total population living within the civic limits is estimated to be around 20 lakh, more than 60% of the civic areas are still maintained by the MCF. This is true even though the state government established the Faridabad Metropolitan Development Authority (FMDA) in 2021–2022 to distribute the cost of the city’s development projects. Approximately 133 sq km of the approximately 343 sq km that make up the MC area have either been moved or are in the process of being transferred from the Municipal Corporation of Faridabad (MCF) to the FMDA, according to sources. The FMDA would handle all of the key development projects, the state government had said last year. According to sources in the government, the agency has been formulating plans for a range of development projects pertaining to roads, sewage, water supply, drainage, and transportation, with a potential total cost of up to Rs 800 crore for the next fiscal year. MC Chief Engineer Birender Kardam said that while further funding has been requested, the civic organization is still seeking government permission.
