In the 2015 Damtal triple murder case, four were found not guilty

Nine years after the alleged incident, four people in a triple murder and dacoity case were found not guilty by the Sessions Court in Dharamsala.

NRIs Baljinder Singh, Lakhvinder Singh, Balbir Rana, and Surjeet Singh were detained in the 2015 triple murder and dacoity case at Damtal in the Kangra district; nevertheless, Sessions Judge Preeti Thakur of Dharamsala granted their acquittal.

The petitioner’s attorney, Sunil Mallan, informed The Tribune that all four of the defendants, who were serving six to eight years in prison, had been cleared of all charges by the court.

The defense attorney said that no proof was shown against the cleared individuals listed in the chargesheet that was submitted to the Sessions Court in 2018.

A forensic expert also stated that it could not be shown that anybody accessed the premises and crime scene, the speaker said.

He claims that a report was made to the Police Station in Indora about the murders of three of the family’s four members, and that after the incident, cash and gold jewelry went missing.

The people who were found not guilty were from Punjab’s Amritsar and Pathankot. Additionally, the defense attorney threatened to sue the complainant for damages for causing innocent people to be imprisoned for an extended amount of time.
