Karnataka Police Seize 5.6 Crores, 3 kg of Gold, and 103 kg of Silver During Pre-Election Sweep

In a significant operation conducted in Bellary, Karnataka, ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, the Karnataka Police found cash worth Rs 5.60 crore, 3 kg of gold, 103 kilos of silver jewelry, and 68 silver bars. The approximate sum recovered is Rs 7.60 crore.

The detectives report that the enormous amount of cash and jewelry was taken from the residence of Naresh, the owner of a jewelry store. He was brought into arrest, according to the police, and is now being questioned.

Police have filed a complaint under section 98 of the Karnataka Police Act because they believe there may be a connection to Hawala. Police said that the Income Tax Department will receive the investigation’s results for further inquiry.
