Light Rainfall is Expected in Delhi, Per IMD

Delhi residents had a lovely morning on Monday as the lowest temperature dropped to 26 degrees Celsius, two degrees below the season’s normal, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), which also predicted that the nation’s capital will likely see moderate precipitation.

On Sunday, the national capital’s lowest and highest temperatures were 26 degrees Celsius and 37 degrees Celsius, respectively.

The Southwest monsoon, which started over the Kerala coast on June 8 and has since spread throughout the whole nation, including Rajasthan, Haryana, and Punjab, was also reported by the meteorological office on Sunday.

It was said that this coverage took place six days before the customary date of July 8.

On Monday, Delhi-NCR is expected to have “light” rain and a mainly overcast sky, with a high temperature that is anticipated to be about 37 degrees Celsius.

The relative humidity was 76% at 8.30 in the morning.

The maximum temperature is expected to be above 33 degrees Celsius and below 36 degrees Celsius during the next days, while the lowest temperature is predicted to be below 27 degrees Celsius and above 24 degrees.

The IMD has issued a forecast for moderate rain, rain, or thundershowers for the next several days.

El Nino conditions over the equatorial Pacific Ocean and favorable Indian Ocean Dipole (IOD) conditions over the Indian Ocean are both very likely to emerge between July and September 2023, according to the IMD.

El Nino is a meteorological phenomena that causes the eastern and central Pacific Ocean’s ocean surface temperatures to rise abnormally; it also has the tendency to reduce India’s monsoon season’s rainfall.

According to statistics from the Central Pollution Control Board, Delhi’s Air Quality Index (AQI) was 100 at 8 a.m. and fell into the “satisfactory” category.

An AQI of 0 to 50 is regarded as “good,” 51 to 100 as “satisfactory,” 101 to 200 as “moderate,” 201 to 300 as “poor,” 301 to 400 as “very poor,” and 401 to 500 as “severe.”
