Lok Sabha Polls 2024: BJP Hyderabad Candidate Says He Was Rebuked For “Shooting Arrow” At Mosque

Madhavi Kompella Latha, the BJP candidate running in Hyderabad against Asaduddin Owaisi, sparked an uproar on social media on Thursday when a video of her pointing and firing an imaginary arrow at a mosque went viral. Following the video’s outcry and criticism on X, the BJP leader said that she was just pointing a “arrow towards the sky” and charged the opposition politicians of attempting to deflect public attention.

However, AIMIM chairman Asaduddin Owaisi said that the BJP representative was attempting to upset the calm in Telangana for political purposes. “BJP – RSS Telangana aur Hyderabad ke aman ko kharab karna chahti hai, Telangana ki Prosperity ke liye Peace zaroori hai aur mujhe yaqeen hai ke 13 May ke din Telangana aur Hyderabad ki awam Telangana ke peace ke dushman (BJP aur RSS) ke khilaf vote degi,” he said.

The gesture was done by the BJP politician on top of a car on Wednesday during the Ram Navami parade at the Siddiamber Bazar intersection in the ancient city. The parade was a part of the yearly celebration of Ram Navami that BJP MLA T Raja Singh organizes.

“On the occasion of Ram Navami yesterday, April 17, I was making a gesture like I was launching an imagined arrow into the sky. the’s all—I let go of the arrow and it went toward a skyscraper. From whence did the mosque originate? These guys, who are alluding to AIMIM, have consistently used such divisive comments to discredit the local BJP leaders and draw attention elsewhere. They are now specialists at stirring up young people. Latha said, “This is a plot against us since we get along well with both Muslim and Hindu brethren.

The BJP candidate made the same motion for many minutes throughout the parade, even before the mosque was visible, according to Latha’s supporters, who stood up for her.

In its manifesto, the BJP refuses to even include the word “minorities”: Awaisi
Earlier, the AIMIM president has accused the saffron party of omitting the phrase “minorities” from its platform.

“On April 17, I saw an advertising from the BJP in a few different publications. Please notice that ST and OBC are mentioned when they discuss government financing or assistance for starting a company. The BJP even refuses to bring up the subject of minorities, much alone Muslims. The Indian Constitution mentions minorities, and the BJP despises the letter M,” Owaisi said to PTI Videos on Wednesday.

“The term minorities has not been used by them. They claim that underprivileged populations would get scholarships,” he said.

He said that Muslims and Dalits had the highest rates of school dropouts, and that the BJP has made intentional efforts to raise the dropout rate in the Muslim population.

The Hyderabad Lok Sabha member urged people to consider the concerns before voting for any party, claiming that there is a danger to the Constitution, rising intolerance towards minorities, and a high unemployment rate in the nation.
According to Owaisi, the BJP may discuss elevating the nation’s economy to the third rank in the world, but growth must take per capita income into account.
