Mahua is called by ED in a FEMA violation case

Mahua Moitra, the leader of the Trinamool Congress and a former MP, was called by the Enforcement Directorate on Thursday and is scheduled to appear before the agency on February 19 for interrogation over the Foreign Exchange Management Act (FEMA) infringement case, according to sources.

The Central Bureau of Probe (CBI), which is looking into claims made by the Lokpal, is also looking into Moitra. This is a preliminary probe.

In a Lok Sabha question, BJP MP Nishikant Dubey had accused Moitra of attacking Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Adani Group, purportedly at the request of businessman Darshan Hiranandani in return for gifts.
