Manish Tewari pledges to improve Chandigarh’s cleanliness and greenery

Manish Tewari, the Indian contender for the Chandigarh parliamentary seat, today pledged to create a better, greener, and cleaner city should he be elected to the Lok Sabha.

Speaking with early morning strollers at Sukhna this morning, Tewari promised to make sure that additional trees and vegetation were added to the area around Sukhna Lake to make it even more beautiful. Senior AAP leader Chandermukhi Sharma and HS Lucky, the head of the Chandigarh Pradesh Congress, were with him.

He promised that the lake would be declared “dog/monkey menace free” right away after the election in response to a complaint that there was a dog and monkey threat nearby. The previous union minister expressed sorrow that the city had dropped from the top spots in the nation’s rankings and said that the landscaping and aesthetics of the city needed to be taken more seriously. He said that this was clearly the result of improper work being done by those in charge of municipal maintenance.

Later on, Tewari assured the residents of Dadu Majra that he will resolve the dumping site problem. Later, while speaking at a gathering called by AAP councilor Munawar, he assured the colonists that they would retain ownership rights.

BJP leaders chastise Lucky for his ‘thin statements.’

Chandigarh: Parveen Narang, who recently defected from the Congress to join the BJP, criticised HS Lucky, the president of the Congress Chandigarh branch, today for characterising party officials and members who join the BJP as “self-styled Congressmen.” “19 years of my life have been dedicated to the Congress.” I rose through the ranks of Youth Congress, where I began my political career. Back then, I was the one who carried flags and other promotional materials and set up seats for parties. The party leadership was forced to offer me more responsibilities because of my genuineness. I was appointed the third district’s president. How am I to be considered self-styled? stated Narang. Parikshit Rana and Jitender Kumar Toti, two more former Congressmen who have joined the BJP, mocked Lucky’s allegation. Rana said that he had been an office-bearer for a considerable amount of time and had always been an authentic member of the Congress.
