Minister: BJP is demeaning the state’s culture by using money to seize power

Anirudh Singh, the minister of rural development and panchayati raj, said today that the BJP was disrespecting the state’s tradition by attempting to seize power by monetary means. The minister said, “Leader of the Opposition Jai Ram Thakur is trying to get the mandate through money, but it’s not our culture to be swayed by money.”

Anirudh Singh went on to say that while the BJP’s leader now had more financial clout, the public was aware of this and would respond appropriately in the next elections. “The BJP leaders are attempting in vain to use their financial clout to topple the administration. He said that when the BJP persuaded six Congress MLAs to cast a cross-party vote in the Rajya Sabha election, they plotted to overthrow the elected government. He said that the whole plot to overthrow the government had been uncovered, and that everyone now knew that the BJP was responsible.

He said that people are aware that the dissident MLAs were first brought to Chandigarh and lodged in a pricey five-star hotel there while being closely watched by the Central Security Forces. “The BJP covered the costs for their helicopter and chartered plane travel,” the minister said.

The Minister for Rural Development and Panchayati Raj said that the rebels who abandoned their party will get a lesson from the people. “They have hurt their constituency’s public feelings. They will pay for surrendering their ethics, and their downfall is certain,” he said.
