“My area of interest is…”: Yuvraj Singh addresses rumors about running for the Lok Sabha

NEW DELHI: Yuvraj Singh, a former cricket player for India, used social media late on Friday to refute speculation that he might run from Gurdaspur, Punjab, in the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections.
Singh clarified that, in contrast to several media rumors, he would not be going into politics and would instead stick to his charitable work with his organization, You We Can.

“Contrary to media reports, I’m not contesting elections from Gurdaspur,” Yuvraj Singh said in a statement that was uploaded on X, the previous Twitter platform, in response to the circulating rumors. My passion is serving and assisting others in any way that I can, and I will keep doing this via my foundation, You We Can. Together, let’s continue doing all in our power to change the world.”

Following his recent meeting with Union Minister and BJP leader Nitin Gadkari, reports had previously appeared indicating Singh’s possible candidacy with the BJP. That being said, Singh’s explanation ends speculation about his potential for political office.
Yuvraj, one of the cricketing superstars of India, has become a symbol of inspiration and resiliency due to his incredible World Cup exploits, his following cancer struggle, and his victorious comeback to the game.
Singh has gained respect both on and off the field for his tenacity and resolve in the face of hardship. Even if some supporters may have expected him to enter politics, his commitment to philanthropic work shows that he still wants to have a beneficial influence on society.
