My daughter was coerced into converting, and K’taka Police played the role of a “puppet.” The father of Neha

Neha Hiremath’s father, Niranjan Hiremath, said on Monday that his daughter was coerced into converting and that the Karnataka Police was acting as the state government’s pawn.

Renuka Sukumar, the Commissioner of Police for Hubballi-Dharwad, is behaving like a puppet. My daughter was slain four days ago today. On the same day, we filed a complaint, and a postmortem was conducted. But as of yet, nothing has been done. Speaking to the media, Niranjan said, “Minister Laxmi Hebbalkar, who had come to visit us, had called the Police Commissioner Renuka Sukumar to our residence and instructed her to take action.”

Niranjan, a Congress corporator, said that Police Commissioner Renuka Sukumar had not yet acted in spite of directives from a minister.

“They (the Police and Police commissioner) only provide words of comfort and assurance, offering no more assistance. He said that “they haven’t even bothered to take information from us.”

He said that despite having provided the identities of every accused party in the case for the last four days, no one has paid attention to him.

“One individual cannot carry out a murder this vicious. The accused, who is from 100 kilometers away, committed the offense on the college campus during the day. Planning was necessary before doing this. Such a crime cannot be committed by one person alone, he said.

He said that informants were telling the accused about Neha’s movements from just outside the gate till they entered the university. He claimed, “The information was passed on and it was ensured that Neha is murdered by the students, batch mates inside and outside.”

He continued by saying that while they haven’t yet, authorities need to look into Neha’s phone logs.

Regarding the claimed conversion, Niranjan said that Neha had consistently refused the accused’s attempts to convert her for at least two years.

Neha turned against and distanced herself from the accused after learning of his conversion ambitions. At that point, she stopped answering the accuser. I personally reviewed every message Neha sent. What further proof do they require? We are aware that an effort was made to convert her, added Niranjan.

He said that inaccurate information on the matter is being sent to the Chief Minister and State Home Minister.

“The Police Commissioner need to be moved right away and turn the matter over to the CID Special Wing. He stated, “I have asked BJP President J.P. Nadda to turn the issue over to the CBI.

Niranjan said that since he is speaking out against the administration, he fears for his safety. He said, “The police protection should be provided by the state home minister and the chief minister.”

On the Hubballi campus of the college, Fayaz Kondikoppa fatally stabbed MCA student Neha Hiremath. Students apprehended the culprit and turned him over to the police.

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said that there was no instance of love jihad, but State Home Minister G. Parameshwara stated that the accused and the dead were in love.

Niranjan Hiremath had insisted that if the state government tampered with the probe, the victim’s family would take their own lives.
