NIA teams conduct 14 site raids across five districts in Punjab

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) raided several sites in Punjab and Rajasthan on Tuesday as part of a significant operation against the link between terrorist organizations and organized crime syndicates.

Many searches were carried out in two Rajasthani sites and fourteen Punjabi locales. The raids began early in the morning in the Rajasthani districts of Churu and Hanumangarh, as well as Amritsar, Bathinda, Moga, Sangrur, and Kapurthala.

Many people were brought in to be questioned in relation to their alleged “involvement” in terrorist operations. Examining many digital gadgets, cell phones, and damning papers that were found were taken into custody.

According to agency sources, the searches are anticipated to provide crucial clues for the current investigations into the relationship between terrorist organizations and criminal syndicates.

In this regard, a group from the NIA searched two homes in the Khanal Kalan settlement, which is close to Dirba. Seeking two young people, the squad made their way to the settlement. The NIA team arrived, according to Dirba SHO, and took one of the young people with them.

The crew reportedly investigated two residences in the town, but neither of the young people—both of whom were around 25 years old—was discovered there. Subsequently, his family summoned him to the hamlet, where he appeared before the team assigned to investigate the matter.

Nonetheless, the NIA team sent his father a notice in the name of the other youngster under the CrPC, stating that the teenager was required to appear at NIA Headquarters in New Delhi on February 29 to respond to certain case-related inquiries.
