Of the 478 cases filed, 881 were apprehended as part of “Operation Akraman-9.”

On April 27, the Haryana Police initiated “Operation Akraman-9,” a statewide initiative to target miscreants, criminal elements, and drug traffickers. Up to 1,309 teams of 6,161 police officers were organized around the state for this operation. In accordance with pertinent provisions of the IPC, NDPS Act, Excise Act, Gambling Act, and Arms Act, 478 cases were filed during the operation. Moreover, 881 suspects were taken into custody.

According to Shatrujeet Kapur, the director general of police of Haryana, extensive information was gathered on criminal operations including the importation of illicit weapons and the trafficking of drugs. 1,309 teams from around the state conducted simultaneous raids under the direction of SPs and DCPs throughout the operation.

32 illicit firearms were found and 28 FIRs under the Arms Act were filed by the police teams during the operation. In addition, 190 detonators, 750 meters of wire, and 391.96 kg of explosive material were found by Satnali police in Mahendragarh. Nineteen people were taken into custody by the police for providing these supplies for illicit mining.

In addition, 3.149 kg of ganja, 22 grams of heroin, 1.589 kg of opium, and 7.80 grams of chitta were seized as a result of the operation. In relation to narcotics offenses, six suspects were taken into custody.

The goal of “Operation Akraman” was to capture infamous criminals. Three of the most wanted offenders, three criminals with bounty on their heads, two cybercriminals, and twenty-one horrible criminals were apprehended by the police.

The police also succeeded in capturing 61 people who had jumped bail and 75 proclaimed criminals who were sought in other instances but had fled to avoid being arrested. 145 more accused people who were engaged in different illegal operations were also apprehended as a result of the operation.

A proclaimed felon who had been sought for robbery for the last thirty years was apprehended by the Nuh Police. They also captured a proclaimed criminal, 29, who was sought in connection with disrupting government activities. A declared criminal sought in a 23-year theft case was taken into custody by the Bhiwani police.
