On Ram Navami, three guys were assaulted in Bengaluru for singing “Jai Shri Ram.”

In Bengaluru, Karnataka, three men in a vehicle were reportedly heckled and physically attacked on Wednesday for allegedly yelling “Jai Shri Ram” chants. After a video of the alleged assault went popular on social media, the police filed a report and detained the suspect.

Three males, named as Binayak, Rahul, and Pavan Kumar, were traveling in a vehicle to look at a used two-wheeler that was for sale. On the festival of Ram Navami, the guys in the automobile were shouting Jai Shri Ram and hoisting a flag when the event happened in the Chikkabettahalli region. Two guys on bikes stopped them because they didn’t like the sloganeering.

They were stopped in the North Bengaluru neighborhood at around 3:45 p.m. by two guys on a bike, who identified themselves as Farman and Sameer. They asked them why they were chanting the phrase, telling them that they should only be shouting “Allah Hu Akbar,” as shown in the video.

After that, two of the three guys pursued Farman into a lane as he attempted to take the flag from them. Sameer rode off. A police officer from the Vidyaranyapura police station, where the FIR was filed, said that the three men were approached by Sameer and Farman, who was holding a stick, when they went back to their vehicle a short time later.

Along with Farman and Sameer, two other people—at least one of whom is a child and the other whose age is unknown—allegedly attacked Rahul and Binayak. Binayak was struck in the nose, while Rahul was beaten with the stick and had head injuries, according to an NDTV report.

Following the incident, the accused ran away. When the police arrived, they brought the three guys to the police station. After Pavan filed the complaint, a hospital was visited by all of them. While the two accused juveniles are being held, Farman and Sameer have been placed under arrest.

At the Vidhyaranyapura Police Station, a case has been filed under IPC Sections 295, 298, 324, 326, 506, and rioting.
