PM Modi will preside over today’s council of ministers meeting: What’s scheduled?

A meeting of the Union council of ministers will be presided over by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday, a few days before the formal announcement of the dates of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. The Bharatiya Janata Party, which is in power, unveiled its first slate of candidates for the next general elections the day before the conference.

According to authorities, the March 3 council of ministers meeting would be held in the Sushma Swaraj Bhawan in the Chanakyapuri diplomatic enclave in New Delhi.

Every so often, the prime minister has been presiding over a meeting of the whole council of ministers to talk about important policy topics, obtain input on how different programs are being carried out, and present his vision for governing issues.

This occurs one day after the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) unveiled its first slate of candidates for the upcoming April–May Lok Sabha elections. Among the 195 names on the candidacy list were some notable figures, including Rajnath Singh, Amit Shah, and Prime Minister Modi.

How will the meeting of the Council of Ministers go?
Developing a polling plan for the country’s impending general elections and evaluating the NDA government’s performance over the previous two terms are anticipated to be the main items on the agenda for the ministers’ meeting on Sunday.

It is anticipated that Prime Minister Modi would consult with Union ministers to get their input on the many government welfare programs and projects that the NDA has undertaken over the last ten years.

In the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, the BJP-led NDA government has stated its confidence in holding onto power for a third term. The prime minister is presiding over a meeting with Union Ministers to assess the level of preparation for the impending elections and devise a strategy for winning.

The Election Commission has begun assessing the states’ readiness to conduct Lok Sabha elections. It is anticipated that the election calendar will be revealed this month.

The 2014 Lok Sabha elections were scheduled to take place in nine phases, with the timetable issued by the Election Commission on March 5 and the results revealed on May 16. On March 10, 2019, the poll panel stated that there will be seven phases to the Lok Sabha elections in 2019, and on May 23, the results were released.
