Vizag has become into a narcotics hotspot, claims JSP

Known for being a tranquil city, Jana Sena Party officials said that Visakhapatnam has suddenly transformed into a capital of drugs and a ganja hotspot.

Speaking to the media here on Friday, the JSP leaders said that while ganja was the only narcotic widely available in Visakhapatnam until recently, large amounts of drugs are now being transported straight from other nations to Visakhapatnam.

Speaking during the event, GVMC Corporator P. Murthy Yadav said that Visakhapatnam has become the capital of a worldwide drug center in addition to being known as the capital of Ganja.

He said that although the leaders of the YSR Congress Party are in the drug trade, they are deceiving the public by making false accusations against the opposition.

Concerned that 25,000 kg of narcotics came before the elections and may be sold nationwide in the next few days, Murthy Yadav voiced his worries.

PVSN Raju, the in-charge of the JSP Chodavaram seat, has urged that the Union government conduct a probe, which should include tracking down the source and destination of the substance. The JSP leaders said that the Delhi liquor fraud case involves the YSRCP as well.

They questioned why YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, the chief minister, had not yet responded to the drug case. B. Vasantha Lakshmi, corporator of GVMC, and Prasad, ward president, were in attendance.
