As the Lok Sabha election draws closer, border security has increased

Haryana and Uttarakhand are next to Sirmaur. These weak borders are vital hubs for security forces during elections because they have traditionally been vulnerable to illicit activities like smuggling and infiltration.

The Sirmaur district’s security personnel are on high alert. There have been further deployments of state police, paramilitary, and central agency troops.

SP, Nahan, Raman Kumar Meena said, “We are taking all necessary precautions to prevent any untoward incidents along the inter-state borders,” in reference to the security measures. Gathering information and taking preventative action are given top priority in order to foil any efforts to sabotage the election process.

To monitor movement and identify any suspicious activity, electronic surveillance equipment, CCTV cameras, and drones have been placed at key sites. At all access points into the Sirmaur district, including Govindghat, Baharal, Meenas, Jong, and Kala Amb, law enforcement officials have beefed up security.
