Voter education is organized by the Leh government

A voter awareness event was organized in Leh by the SVEEP (Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation) team under the guidance of Santosh Sukhadeve, the District Election Officer for Leh. Increasing voter awareness among people with disabilities (PwDs) was the event’s main goal.

Speaking at the event was DEO Santosh Sukhadeve, who discussed the value of voting and how it might provide a chance for social change. He emphasized the value of inclusive voting and the significance of each and every vote.

He emphasized that just 62 percent of voters cast ballots the last time, and this time around they are attempting to get the highest possible proportion of voter turnout.

Dr. Tsewang Murup, the State Nodal Officer for SVEEP, went into great depth on the Saksham app’s advantages for PwDs. All of the attendees received complimentary T-shirts, key chains, and stickers from the SVEEP team.

Attendees were also taught the importance of exercising their rights and the numerous reasons to vote by SVEEP district icon Tsewang Dorje and state icon Phonsok Ladakhi.
