Poll vault: Under the “light” of lime

Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently requested the audience of cadres to show their support for him by flashing their mobile phone flashlights while speaking at a public assembly in Ambasamudram.

Massively, the cadre with mobile phones flashed flashlights. On stage, the BJP officials and candidates also made an effort to flash their torches. A few of them were unable to turn on the torch. John Pandian, the BJP candidate for Tenkasi, asked Ananthan Ayyasamy, a BJP official, to turn it on. He partly succeeded in his endeavor, and he returned the mobile phone to his pocket while keeping the light on.

Hoping for the money to be credited

During a campaign, DMK cadre at Peelamedu in Coimbatore teased the BJP by holding a massive promotional check that said the national government was putting Rs 15 lakh into each and every person’s bank account. The drawer’s signature was replaced with a printed Namam, a Hindu religious symbol placed on the forehead, even though the bank name stated was Mariamman Indian Bank (Gujarat Branch). A picture of Prime Minister Narendra Modi was also shown on the check.

Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin urged the ladies gathered there to raise their hands if they had got the Rs 1,000 honorarium during an electoral campaign in Erode. Many males, to everyone’s astonishment, got into the act. The men stated they were raising their hands on behalf of their spouses when Udhaya emphasized that it was a question for women. Well, how considerate
