Praying For Successful Landing Of Chandrayaan-3, Delhi CM Kejriwal Declares

Arvind Kejriwal, the chief minister of Delhi, said on Tuesday that he is praying for the nation’s highly anticipated Chandrayaan-3 lander module to arrive successfully on the moon.  He said that the Wednesday lunar landing by the Chandrayaan lander module is a cause for celebration.

As India aims to become the first nation to reach the unexplored south pole of earth’s only natural satellite, the Lander Module (LM) of Chandrayaan-3, ISRO’s ambitious third Moon mission, is scheduled to touch down on the lunar surface Wednesday evening.

“I make a prayer to God for Chandrayaan’s safe landing. On the sidelines of an event here, Kejriwal remarked, “The whole nation is excitedly expecting the arrival. At 6:04 p.m. on Wednesday, the landing module, which consists of the lander (Vikram) and the rover (Pragyan), is supposed to make a gentle touchdown close to the south pole of the moon.

After the US, China, and the former Soviet Union, India will become the fourth nation to perfect the technique of soft-landing on the lunar surface if the Chandrayaan-3 mission succeeds in making a touchdown on the moon and in landing a robotic lunar rover in ISRO’s second attempt in four years.

On September 7, 2019, Chandrayaan-2’s lunar phase was unsuccessful after its lander, “Vikram,” collided with the Moon’s surface when it attempted to touch down due to problems with the lander’s braking mechanism. 2008 saw the first mission of Chandrayaan.
