Rejecting Claims That It Supports Hamas and Reiterating Its Anti-Terrorism Position

Party leader Digvijaya Singh stated on Wednesday that Congress would never support a “militant” organization like Hamas that can be referred to as a “terrorist activity” in response to the BJP accusing the party of backing Hamas and the Palestinian cause.

Singh said that the Congress has always opposed violence and terrorism.

The Rajya Sabha member said, “If there is any allegation against this organization, conducting raids is alright, but accusations in 97 per cent of such cases were found to be false.” This was in response to the NIA conducting searches at 20 sites across six states against the outlawed Popular Front of India.

“Palestine and Israel are at odds over their shared border. Since Hamas is a violent group, the Congress will never support it.In response to a query, he told reporters in Ujjain, “You may call it a terrorist action.

According to Singh, peace must be made and the Israeli-Palestinian problem must be resolved.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) attacked the Congress for purportedly backing Hamas and the Palestinian cause without making reference to the assault on Israel in the CWC resolution. On Tuesday, the Congress stated that there were no disagreements inside the party on the resolution.

In response to a query, Singh referred to central government organizations including the Enforcement Directorate, Income Tax, and the Central Bureau of Investigation as “political weapons” that were being used to overthrow governments.

False accusations are being made (against opposition camp leaders). Ajit Pawar joined the BJP-led government in Maharashtra in July and was appointed deputy chief minister three days after the prime minister accused the NCP leader of fraud.

Singh said that during the 2014 election campaign, PM Modi vowed to bring black money into the nation.

“If voted to power, Congress will decide about free darshan in the famous Mahakaleshwar temple,” he said.
