Robbers from an interdistrict gang were busted

Leading Kapurthala police, SSP Vatsala Gupta, said that on April 22, they had broken up an inter-district gang of thieves and resolved the money exchanger loot case in Chiherru village, which is close to this place. Three gang members were also taken into custody by the police.

Residents of Chandpur village in Jalandhar, Kulwant Rai, Harsukhdeep Singh, also known as Sagar, and Jai Deep, have been identified as the suspects, according to SSP Gupta.

SP Phagwara According to Rupinder Kaur Bhatti, the cops found a cell phone and Rs 22,750 in their hands.

After ransacking Dharam Paul’s business on April 22, the suspects, together with a female gang member, are accused of stealing Rs 65,000, two mobile phones, a handbag containing an Aadhaar card, a PAN card, and a driver’s license.

A motorbike with the registration number PB-08EA-5322 that was utilized in the crime was also found by the police.

According to Station House Officer (SHO) Balwinder Singh Bhullar of Sadar Phagwara, the suspects appeared before the Judicial Magistrate, who placed them under police detention till Wednesday in order to conduct further questioning.

The suspects, according to SP Bhatti, have a criminal record. Kulwant was the subject of two lawsuits that were filed in 2022 and 2023. In 2018, 2019, 2020, and 2021, three cases were filed against Harsukhdeep, and last year, a complaint was filed against Jai Deep.
