Shifted Congress’s “loot east” agenda to a “act east” one, according to PM Modi

The former Congress government in Tripura pursued a “loot east” strategy, according to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who said on Wednesday that the state was in terrible shape prior to the BJP taking office. According to him, the BJP has made it into a “act east” strategy. Speaking at a campaign rally in Agartala, he also criticized Congress MP Rahul Gandhi, claiming that although he had criticized Kerala’s left-led chief minister, Pinarayi Vijayan, both the Congress and the CPM had formed an “opportunistic alliance” in Tripura in order to win elections.

“Rahul Gandhi wants the chief minister of Kerala to go to prison. A critic of the federal inquiry agencies wants these institutions to take action against the chief minister of Kerala. The PM said that the Left and the Congress were united in Tripura and wanted to live in palaces.

Modi said that when the Congress was in power in New Delhi, many of its ministers did not even know where Tripura was located on a map; therefore, under the Left rule, the state languished and the northeast area as a whole received no development.

He said, “I am the only PM who has traveled to the northeast more than 50 times in the last ten years.”
