Suspects in the Rameshwaram Cafe explosion are being held in Bengaluru

According to police officials on Saturday, the NIA brought two primary suspects in the Rameshwaram Cafe bombing case to the city from Kolkata while they were on transit custody.

Following a standard medical examination, both will be brought before this National Investigation Agency (NIA) court.

The two suspects in the bomb case were given a 3-day transit remand by a Kolkata court on Friday, enabling the NIA to transport them to the capital of Karnataka.

Adbul Matheen Ahmed Taahaa and Mussavir Hussain Shazib, both of Kolkata, were taken into custody by the NIA on March 1 for their suspected involvement in the explosion at the Rameshwaram Cafe here that wounded ten persons.

The Improvised Explosive Device (IED) in the café was set up by Shazib, according to NIA, and Taahaa was the mastermind.

The NIA said last month that anybody supplying information that results in the apprehension of these two suspects will get a reward of Rs 10 lakh each.

On March 1, an IED explosion shook the café on ITPL Road in Brookefield, Bengaluru.

On March 3, the NIA took over the investigation.
