Tamil Nadu youth who were thrashed for refusing to marry minors pass away

At the Coimbatore Medical College Hospital on Monday night, a 23-year-old fuel pump operator passed away from his injuries, two days after he had been severely beaten by five of his pals. The deceased, named as S Jayachandiran, worked at a fuel bunk in Vellalore. He had gotten to know the main suspect’s 16-year-old sister and had agreed to marry her once she turned 18 and became pregnant. She got an abortion, and her family was supportive of it.

He recently informed her brother that he had made the decision not to marry her, which infuriated his buddy and set off the attack, according to the police. The suspects, who included the girl’s older brother and a 16-year-old guy, were taken into custody on Tuesday after three special teams were assembled.

According to the police, the group had warned Jayachandiran on Friday by bringing him to a remote location close to Thadagam, where they reportedly beat him with logs. After that, they returned him to the city, where Jayachandiran went back to his house on Mahaliamman Kovil Street, close to Irugur, and kept the attack a secret from everyone. But on Sunday, he had to be sent to a nearby private hospital owing to difficulties from an alleged head injury he received during the attack, and then he was transferred to CMCH.

Before being attacked, the victim was drawn to a drunken party: Police

The Podanur police had filed a case of attempted murder after receiving information from the hospital. The young person’s health worsened on Monday, and that evening he passed away without reacting to medical intervention.

Jayachandiran had gotten to know the girl and formed a friendship with her, authorities said. Her brother was against the connection at first, but he eventually came around and persuaded both families. But it’s thought that Jayachandiran conceived the child, forcing her family to seek an abortion. Jayachandiran was instructed by the girl’s brother to refrain from betraying her and to wait till the girl reached marriageable age. Jayachandiran recently admitted to the brother that he was reconsidering their relationship, nevertheless.

According to the police, this infuriated the brother, who invited Jayachandiran to a party on Friday along with four other pals. The group reportedly brought him to a remote location close to Thadagam after they had drunk alcohol and attacked him there. The case was changed by the police to one of murder when Jayachandiran died.
