Telangana: Ananya from Mahbubnagar gets an AIR 3 in the civil services test on her first try

In the Civil Services Exams (CSE) 2023 held by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC), Mahbubnagar district’s Donuru Ananya Reddy achieved All India Rank (AIR) 3 after two years of self-preparation and a few months of instruction for the anthropology subject.

Ananya is the highest-scoring female candidate this year and placed first among candidates from the Telugu states, according to the results that were made public on Tuesday afternoon. In the meanwhile, Odisha’s Animesh Pradhan earned AIR 2, and Uttar Pradesh’s Aditya Srivastava took first place.

Ananya studied humanities after graduating from Mahbubnagar High School, and in 2021 she earned her geography degree from Miranda House, Delhi University. She wishes to join the IAS, and this was her first try.

According to sources, some fifty individuals from the Telugu states have been chosen for jobs in a variety of services, in addition to Ananya. While Hyderabadi Merugu Kaushik received AIR 82, Nandala Sai Kiran from the hamlet of Velichala in Karimnagar received AIR 27. Vishal from Chanda (T) village and Shubam Goud from Indervalli Mandal, two candidates from the former Adilabad district, obtained AIRs 718 and 790, respectively.

When asked about his test preparation, Kaushik—who also passed the CSE on his first try—told TNIE, “I had started from the final year of my MBA program.” I subsequently worked as a private consultant for a year before dedicating all of my time to studying for the tests. ~

Rank-holder exhorts candidates to never give up

Sai Kiran, who obtained AIR 27, has completed her BTech in the meantime. His father was a powerloom worker who died after a protracted battle with cancer. His mother rolled beedis to support the family in the meantime.

His cousin Srinivas, who was able to acquire AIR 27, informed TNIE that Sai Kiran had established a goal and had continuously shown her confidence in reaching it. He added that he overcame challenges because his sister, an assistant executive engineer in the irrigation department, supported him. “He has demonstrated to us that a person can overcome poverty and realize their dreams through hard work,” Srinivas said.

As they made many efforts to pass the tests, other Telangana rank holders stated how motivation and mental health played a significant role.

From a hamlet in the Khammam area, Ravuri Sai Alekhya, AIR 938, passed the test on her fifth try. “Do not get demotivated if you have to give a second or third attempt,” she advised applicants. It’s critical to have self-confidence in this difficult test.

Ananya got ready for the Vishnu IAS Academy anthropological interview. The institute’s director, Vishnuvardhan, told TNIE that “this is an important exam, but it is only a part of life.”

He went on, “Hard effort and’smart work’ should be combined to prepare for the UPSC tests. Aside from this, mentorship and family support are also crucial.

“It was hard to pass the CSAT.”

Some of the test takers expressed their opinion that this year’s Civil Services Aptitude Test (CSAT) papers were quite challenging. It was difficult to pass the CSAT examinations. Many of us failed this test because it had questions that only candidates who have studied for the CAT can answer,” said Kaushik, a candidate who took the test twice this year.

Additionally, he disclosed that this year’s CSAT paper was harder than the one from 2022.

Although Aishwarya Nelli Syamala, AIR 649, acknowledged that the exams were challenging, she also said that her desire to enter the public service kept her going and contributed to her success.

In all, 1,016 individuals were recommended by the UPSC for recruitment to different positions this year. Based on the available spots, appointments would be created for services. There are now 180 IAS officer vacancies, 37 IFS vacancies, 200 IPS vacancies, and 726 central services vacancies.
