Terrorist-obtained drugs are destroyed

Narcotics that had been taken from drug dealers over the previous several months were burned today by a drug disposal committee of the Amritsar (rural) police. A squad under the command of Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Satinder Singh completed the assignment today at the Khanna Paper Mill here by burning narcotics.

The SSP said that the drugs, which included heroin, alcohol, and powder, had previously been found in 54 criminal cases. According to him, 19 pre-trial and 35 post-trial case properties were disposed of today.

The rural police destroyed 1.750 kg of poppy husk, 1.3 kg of narcotic powder found in ten different instances, 100 intoxicant pills, and 43.821 kg of heroin found in 42 cases.

According to the SSP, the Punjab Police is dedicated to eradicating the drug problem from society. He said that the police had destroyed narcotics cartels and made significant seizures recently. In order to put a stop to the threat, he suggested that others should also come out and work with the agency. Members of the drug disposal committee, as well as Tajinderpal Singh, DSP (narcotics), and Harinder Singh, DSP (detective), were also in attendance.
