People all throughout India participate in “Shramdaan,” which is suggested by Prime Minister Narendra Modi
On Sunday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi advocated for combining cleanliness and fitness while leading a statewide cleaning campaign in which thousands of people took part in an hour-long “shramdaan” throughout the nation.
PM Modi participated in the drive while brandishing a broom, along with fitness influencer Ankit Baiyanpuriya.
On his official X account, Modi shared a 4-minute video with the caption, “Today, while the country concentrates on Swachhata, Ankit Baiyanpuriya and I did the same! Beyond only hygiene, we included wellness and fitness in the mix as well. “That Swachh and Swasth Bharat vibe is everything!”
The “Swachhata hi Seva” campaign was launched in response to the prime minister’s call for participation from all areas of life, from lawmakers to students.
More than 9.20 lakh sites nationwide have been chosen for the massive effort, claims the Union Housing and Urban Affairs Ministry.
Modi requested “one hour of shramdaan (or voluntary labor) for swachhata)” from all Indians on October 1 in a recent edition of “Mann Ki Baat,” saying it would be a “Swachhanjali” to Mahatma Gandhi on the eve of his birth anniversary.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah took part in a cleaning campaign in Ahmedabad while carrying a broom. In the drive in the Jhandewalan neighborhood of Delhi, BJP leader JP Nadda also participated.
Yogi Adityanath of Uttar Pradesh took part in the Swachhata Pakhwada cleaning campaign in Sitapur.
RK Singh, the Union Power Minister, said to media while participating in the “shramdaan” (volunteer labor), “We (the Centre) have adopted a commitment to keep the nation clean. Although it will be difficult, we can accomplish it.

Air Chief Marshal VR Chaudhari, head of the Indian Air Force, volunteered for a cleanup project in New Delhi.

In Lucknow, ‘Swachhata Pakhwada’ activities are being held throughout the nation, according to Deputy Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Brajesh Pathak, who participated in one. He urged everyone to take part in the campaign.
According to the Union Housing and Urban Affairs Ministry, volunteers participated in the “shramdaan” in more than 22,000 market areas, 10,000 water bodies, 7,000 bus stands/toll plazas, 1,000 gaushalas, 300 zoos and wildlife areas, and various other places in rural and urban India. They included NGOs, market associations, self-help groups, faith groups, trade bodies, and private sector companies.
While Maharashtra will undertake the campaign at around 62,000 areas, including beaches, religious sites, schools, universities, and water bodies, Uttar Pradesh has adopted more than a lakh venues for cleanliness efforts.
Throughout the campaign in Telangana, old temples were cleaned.
