The MP government will drop its charges against anyone who violated COVID-19 standards

According to state home minister and government spokesperson Narottam Mishra, the Madhya Pradesh administration on Thursday decided to take back complaints filed against individuals under “normal sections” for breaking COVID-19 regulations during the lockdown.

Cases were filed against residents during the lockdown for things like meeting in public without a mask on because their actions may possibly transmit the virus.

According to the chief minister’s orders, the government would review complaints filed against people for breaking COVID-19 standards during the lockdown under regular sections (applicable for less severe offenses).

According to an official, the precise number of charges filed for violating COVID-19 regulations is still unknown.

As part of the statewide effort and subsequently in stages, a lockdown was implemented in the state in March 2020 to stop the COVID-19 epidemic from spreading.

Up to June 4 in the state, 10,56,341 individuals had coronavirus positive tests, and 10,786 deaths were associated with it. Five instances are now active in MP, according to a state health advisory.
