The next hearing for Manish Sisodia’s bail plea is scheduled on July 28

In response to the former deputy chief minister of Delhi Manish Sisodia’s request for bail in connection with the liquor policy violations case, the Supreme Court on Friday sent notice to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and Enforcement Directorate (ED). The matter has been scheduled for the next hearing on July 28 by the highest court.

The bail requests of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Manish Sisodia in connection with the Delhi excise policy case, which is being investigated by federal agencies CBI and ED, were considered by a bench of Justices Sanjiv Khanna and Bela M. Trivedi.

The CBI detained the former deputy chief minister of Delhi, who oversaw excise in the Delhi government, on February 26, 2023, for his suspected involvement in the “scam” around the liquor policy.

Since then, the AAP leader has been detained. On March 9, 2023, the ED detained him in connection with a money laundering case resulting from the CBI FIR after interviewing him in Tihar prison.
