The SC grants DMRC’s appeal against the Rs 8,000 crore arbitral verdict made in DAMEPL’s favor

The Supreme Court ruled on Wednesday that the PSU was not had to pay Rs 8,000 crore to the Delhi Airport Metro Express Private Ltd. (DAMEPL), a Reliance Infrastructure company, in accordance with a 2017 arbitral ruling, marking a significant win for the DMRC.

Delhi Metro Rail Corporation’s (DMRC) curative petition against the denial of its revision case against the arbitral decision was granted by a bench led by Chief Justice D Y Chandrachud.

The top court heard the curative case and reserved its ruling, dismissing the DMRC’s appeal and review petitions that contested the arbitral award and demanded that it pay Rs 8,000 crore to DAMEPL.
