This Rahul Gandhi model has failed because it makes false promises in order to gain power and then breaks promises: Thakur

Anurag Thakur, a union minister, criticized Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, claiming that his strategy of making “false” promises to gain power and then breaking those pledges had failed in the states controlled by the grand old party.

His criticism follows Rahul Gandhi and Congress national secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra’s recent trips to Madhya Pradesh, a state that is going to the polls, when they made a number of promises if their party won power there.

The Congress has promised free and discounted electricity, the reinstatement of the previous pension plan, the cancellation of agricultural loans, Rs. 1,500 per month for women, and several other assurances.

“These promises fell through in Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh; Congress leaders are unable to appear there. When their administration was in power, there was an uproar in Madhya Pradesh, Thakur told reporters on Friday night in answer to a query.

He said that despite prior party announcements, the Congress administration in these states had neither waived agricultural debts or provided jobless benefits.

“They only appear during elections to offer a lollypop and false promises. Thakur cited additional promises including the purchase of cow-dung and providing jobs. “In Himachal Pradesh, they gave a guarantee of transferring Rs 1,500 per month into every woman’s bank account, but not a single rupee was given even after 10 months,” Thakur claimed.

He said that the Congress regimes in Himachal Pradesh and Karnataka had ceased funding development.

“What kind of model is this, Rahul Gandhi? Give false promises in order to gain control, then break your promises and halt growth. The Rahul Gandhi model has failed, according to the union minister of information and broadcasting.

The Indian men’s hockey team won a gold medal at the Asian Games, and Thakur, who is also the Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports, thanked them and noted that this is the most medals the nation has ever won at these competitions.

With a dramatic 26-25 victory over Chinese Taipei in the women’s kabaddi match, the Indian delegation won a historic 100th gold at the Asian Games, an accomplishment praised by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
