Together, we shall address a situation that resembles a drought: CM Revanth Reddy

Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy said on Wednesday that the administration is getting ready to address the drought-like condition in certain areas of the state, assuring farmers that his government will support them no matter what. “We will work together to address the state’s drought-like circumstances. The chief minister said that the situation is becoming severe since the reservoirs are running low due to a year of little rainfall.

He said that the release of water from the reservoirs was being demanded by farmers and politicians from the former districts of Karimnagar, Khammam, Nalgonda, and Mahbubnagar. “I want farmers to be aware of the circumstances. Ensuring that there is no scarcity of potable water throughout the summer months is essential, according to Revanth.

After practically establishing the “Rythu Nestham” platform, he was speaking.

By Rythu Nestham, the government hopes to address issues that farmers confront.

In attendance were leaders of the farmers unions Sunketa Anvesh Reddy, Nallamala Venkateswara Rao, and Y Venkateswara Rao, as well as Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka, Agriculture Minister Thummala Nageswara Rao, Agriculture department secretary and commissioner Raghunandana Rao, director Gopi, and others.

During the Rythu Nestham launch video conference, the chief minister encouraged farmers to grow more than just rice, cotton, or chili – they should diversify their crop portfolio. Telangana, according to him, has the climate and soil ideal for raising 26 different kinds of crops. Revanth said, “Crop diversification will increase yield and profit.”

According to him, the agricultural department wanted Rythu Nestham to be easier for farmers to get to. “More than just paying farmers a fair price, my administration wants to make sure farmers benefit from their crops. The chief minister said that Rythu Bharosa, debt forgiveness, seed distribution, and agriculture product purchases via IKP centers and market yards will be carried out.

He stated that the administration is video conferencing with 2,601 Rythu Vedikas around the state as part of Rythu Nestham. Initially, 110 Assembly seats have piloted the installation of video conferencing devices.

With funding from the Prof. Jayashankar Agricultural University and the Agriculture Department, Rythu Nestham is being implemented at a cost of Rs. 97 crore. By doing this, state representatives and agricultural specialists will speak with farmers face-to-face in their communities, learn about their issues, and provide guidance and recommendations pertaining to crops.
