Publicity and advertising materials have been attached to utility and streetlight poles. Posters and hoardings put up at crossroads often obstruct traffic signals, which may cause mishaps. Although the IPC and the Defacement Act provide for legal action in response to infractions, the authorities have not taken strong measures to prosecute the violators.

Inadequate trash handling at Okhla
Because Okhla lacks an adequate system for collecting and disposing of waste, the area has become a virtual landfill. Not only are rubbish heaps unsightly, but they also seriously endanger the health of nearby neighbors. The Delhi Municipal Corporation has to act quickly to maintain the neighborhood’s cleanliness.
