Transgender person in Jharkhand on a quest to discuss community

From Dhanbad, a third gender is expected to run for the Lok Sabhapolls for the first time in Jharkhand history. Sunaina Singh is committed to speaking out for her community despite its small size.

Sunaina Singh, 35, a graduate of P K Roy Memorial College in Dhanbad with a degree in Zoology, has also been granted a ticket by the Naqi Bhartiya Ekta Party (NBEP), which is located in Uttar Pradesh. She is now the “Kinnar Maa Trust” district president.

She added that after being given a ticket by the Chaudhary Zarar Ahmed Naqi-led NBEP, she decided to run as an independent. Sunaina claims that she is running for office on the platform of unemployment and education, and that she would make sure the kids have access to greater educational opportunities, which will in turn create more jobs in Dhanbad.

It’s interesting to note that Sunaina has also revealed her manifesto, in which she makes it apparent that unemployment and education are among her top priorities. Sunaina laments the “inequality against the transgender community” and asks why, after 75 years of independence, the group is still marginalized and why no political party has taken anything to support them.

With the backing of her neighborhood and middle-class families, Sunaina will enter the electoral race despite years of scorn from her family. Since transgender persons do not have families, Sunaina said, “I will work only for the welfare of the people of my constituency if I get elected from the seat. After joining politics, most people resort to nepotism.” Regarding the money needed to run for office, Sunaina said that her constituents and community have been contributing to her campaign so that she can stand up to the pervasive corruption and pollution in Dhanbad.

In reference to her journey, Sunaina said that after her birth, her parents left her in the hospital, and the state president of the transgender community took care of her. Due to widespread prejudice against her group in society, she also applied for jobs in Delhi after receiving her degree, but was unsuccessful, she said. When Sunaina did eventually return to Dhanbad, she made the decision to work for her constituents’ freedom from unemployment, crime, corruption, and poverty.

The education and unemployment planks

Sunaina claims that she is running for office on the platforms of unemployment and education, and that she would make sure the kids have access to greater educational opportunities, which will in turn create more jobs in Dhanbad, a significant commercial area.
