Vibrant communities: DC talks about border village tourist infrastructure

Today at the district headquarters in Reckong Peo, a meeting on the Vibrant Village Programme (VVP) was presided over by Dr. Amit Kumar Sharma, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) for Kinnaur. He had a conversation with the authorities in attendance on how border village infrastructure should be developed to enhance tourism and raise locals’ incomes overall.

He instructed the Public Works and Forest Department staff to create tourism attractions in the border communities while preserving the rights of the indigenous population.

Additionally, the District Magistrate addressed Indo-Tibetan Border Police representatives, giving them instructions to work in tandem with the relevant panchayats to execute development projects aimed at promoting equitable growth in the region.

He provided the essential rules and spoke about how approach roads, footbridges, and liquid and solid waste management systems should be set up at tourist destinations.

The meeting was facilitated by Assistant Commissioner Vijay Kumar, who also gave the DC a thorough project report. Participants at the conference included representatives and staff from many departments.
